Розкрито окремі грані унікальної творчої особистості Івана Франка - поета, вченого, перекладача, історика літератури, етнографа, публіциста, громадського політичного діяча, проаналізовано розвиток сучасного академічного франкознавства, розглянуто основні проблеми та найважливіші здобутки останніх років у цьому напрямі. Окрему увагу приділено репрезентативним заходам за участю академічних установ з вшанування на державному рівні пам'яті Івана Франка. Зокрема реалізації науково-видавничого проекту "Франківська енциклопедія" у 7 томах.
