Доповідь присвячено результатам пріоритетних фундаментальних і прикладних досліджень, які проводяться в Інституті гідробіології НАН України, зокрема тих, що спрямовані на розроблення та опрацювання нових підходів до біоіндикації екологічного стану річкових систем України. Цей напрям досліджень стає особливо актуальним у зв'язку з виконанням зобов'язань України щодо імплементації законодавства Євросоюзу в галузі довкілля.
