Approach to assessing the stability of ranking alternatives obtained by analytic hierarchy process

The article provides a general description of the analytic hierarchy process and analyzes the problem of assessing the stability of ranking alternatives obtained by this process. Stability assessment is shown to be an important component of conclusions on the possibility of the practical use of ranking results. An approach to the stability assessing is proposed, which is based on the interactive procedure and allows for a significant reduction of the calculation amount. Using this approach increases the argumentation of recommendations developed on the basis of the analytic hierarchy process due to the presence of a fairly objective conclusion on the stability of the priorities of the considered alternatives. © 2021, Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature.
